For guests
You’ve been invited
Someone has sent you an invitation through Open Envelope. Here’s what that means, and what we do with your details.
Before you tap
Is this real?
Yes. Open Envelope is a service hosts use to send invitations by text, WhatsApp or email. The link you received was sent by the person hosting your event — not by us, and not by anyone who bought your number.
Your link is yours alone. It opens your invitation, with your name on it. We never ask you for a password, a payment, or anything beyond your reply.
The guest experience
Open. Reply. Done.
Your envelope opens
Your name is on the front. You can skip the animation if you’d rather go straight in.
You read the invitation
The date, the time, the place, and a note from your host.
You reply
One tap. Add a message for the host if you’d like, or anything they need to know.
Behind the invitation
See how your host put it together
How it works walks through the host's side: choosing a design, adding the guest list, and where the replies go.
You don’t need an account
No sign-up, no app, no password. Tap the link and you’re in.
Changed your mind? Open the same link again and update your reply. Your host sees the change straight away.
Privacy
Your details
Your host already has your phone number or email — that’s how they invited you. We use it to deliver the invitation and nothing else.
We don’t sell your details, we don’t add you to any mailing list, and we don’t message you about anything other than the event you were invited to.
- Kept for
- 60 days after the event, then deleted
- To stop texts
- Reply STOP at any time
Something not working?
If your link doesn’t open, or the details look wrong, contact your host directly — they can resend it or correct it. We can’t change an invitation on a host’s behalf.
